Just out of the curiosity, why do you want to know which one is master?

Also I'm interested in your set up because pgpool-II + AWS ELB load
balancer configuration has some users and I would like to enhance
pgpool-II to better serve with the configuration. I have not yet found
the best practice of pgpool-II on AWS.
