[Pgpool-general] Directory /var/run/pgpool/ is deleted after reboot computer

I am using :
Linux ubuntu 2.6.32-24-generic-pae #39-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 28 07:39:26 UTC
2010 i
686 GNU/Linux
Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

Here is my command
user at ubuntu:~$ sudo su -
[sudo] password for user:
root at ubuntu:~# mkdir /var/run/pgpool
root at ubuntu:~# pgpool
root at ubuntu:~# cat /var/run/pgpool/pgpool.pid
1010 root at ubuntu:~#
root at ubuntu:~# reboot

After reboot

user at ubuntu:~$ sudo su -
[sudo] password for user:
root at ubuntu:~# cd /var/run
root at ubuntu:/var/run# ls
atd.pid            network       sendsigs.omit.d          utmp
crond.pid          postgresql    sshd                     watershed
crond.reboot       pppconfig     sshd.pid
dhclient.eth0.pid  rsyslogd.pid  sudo
motd               screen        upstart-udev-bridge.pid
root at ubuntu:/var/run#

pgpool directory is deleted

Please help me.
