If you have two separate configuration files, you need to specify them
by -f option. Example:

instance 1: pgpool -f /etc/pgpool1.conf
instance 2: pgpool -f /etc/pgpool2.conf

In pgpool1.conf and pgpool2.conf following directives should have
different values:

port
socket_dir
logdir
