DescriptionI have set up pg_pool server

Details are as follows
Pgpool primary X.X.X.40
Pgpool Secondarry in failover mode X.X.X.41
Primary DB : X.X.X.4
Secondary DB : X.X.X.5
virtual Ip/delegate_ip ;X.X.X.6

I have to keep pgpool ip ( X.X.X.40 and 41) as trust in my DB servers pg_hba.conf. if i make it MD5 and try to connect to virtual Ip from my primary pgpool server it gives error

sh-4.1$ psql -U postgres -h X.X.X.6 -p 5432 -d test_db
could not change directory to "/home/admin"
psql: ERROR: unable to read message length
DETAIL: message length (8) in slot 1 does not match with slot 0(12)

I dont want to keep the trust mode between pgpool servers and Db servers. Please guide me how to resolve this issue.

Could you check that both pg_hba.conf files are equal ?
