| Summary | 0000199: Best Pgpool-II version for our Environment & Performance issue | ||||
| Description | Hi, We are about to release our SaaS product with backend as postgres 9.3 and Pgpool-II. Presently in our lab we are testing with postgres 9.3 and pgpool-II 3.3.7 on FreeBSD 10.1 OS We have multiple observations primarily in 3 areas - 1 ) pgpool gives error and gets stuck ( I have already raised another issue on this subject) 2) performances related. 3) Need your guideness on what is the best version of pgpool-II for our environment (that can provide stable and performance) Point 2) a) Performance Related : Time to process the read and write with pgpool and without pgpool the with just one user login to application is considerably high. We would like to know how to tune this. b) we use pgpool "load balancing" for synchronous commit across the 2 DB, bu when one Node (made Node 0) failed and comes back after 2 hours - during which the node 1 was service the read and write - how will the node 0 get back the data from node 1 when it comes back for consistency ? Point 3) Our environment is Postgres 9.3 in FreeBSD 10.1 - what is the best PGpool version you suggest us ? (unfortunately freebsd ports has only 3.3.7 as latest version) thanks and regards Shanmu | ||||
