Todd, this is showing the status of the backend nodes (postgresql), not the frontend nodes (pgpool).

This query will show the primary and standby nodes.

psql -h <VIP> -p 9999 -U pgpool postgres -c "show pool_nodes"

Is there a way to query pgpool to determine which host is the primary frontend? Or is the only way to determine this to check the IP addresses on all potential frontends to see which one has the virtual IP?

Jon
