You can ignore this. I re-cloned the hosts it’s working now

I’m sure I have ran into the issue before but can’t remember how to fix it. I scan the archives but didn’t find it. These hosts are cloned from a working environment. It seem that this should be working unless it has to do with using different host name. I changed to use the correct host name in pgpool.conf

I start pgpool on master node this is the first error I am seeing. It’s unable to read the data from all of the DB nodes.

2020-07-22 12:02:28: pid 1649977: ERROR: unable to read data from DB node 0

2020-07-22 12:02:28: pid 1649977: LOG: health check retrying on DB node: 0 (round:2)

2020-07-22 12:02:28: pid 1649979: ERROR: unable to read data from DB node 2

2020-07-22 12:02:28: pid 1649979: DETAIL: EOF encountered with backend

2020-07-22 12:02:28: pid 1649979: LOG: health check retrying on DB node: 2 (round:2)

2020-07-22 12:02:29: pid 1649978: ERROR: unable to read data from DB node 1

2020-07-22 12:02:29: pid 1649978: DETAIL: EOF encountered with backend

2020-07-22 12:02:29: pid 1649978: LOG: health check retrying on DB node: 1 (round:3)

Then it tries to failover but can’t because I haven’t start pgpool on the other nodes.

PostgreSQL is running on all of the nodes and I don’t see any errors in the postgres log file

I have 3 pgpool/postgresql nodes
VMware
Pgpool-II 4.1.1
PostgreSQL 12
Ubuntu 20
