    allow_clear_text_frontend_auth is new in 4.0, i.e. it's not in 3.6.
So I guess there's something wrong with
allow_clear_text_frontend_auth. I wanted to track down the problem
but unfortunately was not able to reproduce your problem using 4.0.2.

    Usama,

Do you have any idea on this?

    Best regards,
