Hi All,

I have PgPool II setup with watchdog mode enabled and wd_lifecheck_method set to as heartbeat.

Still when I am seeing my PostgreSQL Backend's logs I am receiving connection request from PgPool II severs
for template1 db !

Here is the log output :

2018-11-29 21:14:40.234 IST [9051] ngb at template1/172.18.0.151(36476) FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "172.18.0.151", user "ngb", database "template1", SSL off
2018-11-29 21:14:40.250 IST [9052] ngb at template1/172.18.0.151(36484) FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "172.18.0.151", user "ngb", database "template1", SSL off
2018-11-29 21:14:40.522 IST [9057] ngb at template1/172.18.0.151(36512) FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "172.18.0.151", user "ngb", database "template1", SSL off
2018-11-29 21:14:40.539 IST [9058] ngb at template1/172.18.0.151(36520) FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "172.18.0.151", user "ngb", database "template1", SSL off

Earlier I was using ngb user for sr_check and health_check. But now I have created dedicated users for health_check and sr_check
and have updated pgpool.conf file also and have restarted the services.

But still I am getting the above error in PostgreSQL's log files. There is no place in pgpool.conf file where I have provided user as ngb
and db as 'template1' to connect.

The only place I could find template1 is in wd_lifecheck_dbname.

I am not able to find out why this is happening. Kindly help team.

Regards,
Nitish Kumar
