[pgpool-general: 6286] alternative to 'virtual IP' ?

Dear All.

IMHO using 'virtual IP' as watchdog action is good as long as all PGPOOL
nodes is in the same IP Network.

Is there any way that we can triger external script whenever a PGPOOL node
promoted to as 'master' ?
