It works with the version 3.7.7 (but did not work for 4.0.1)

[root at dbi-pg-tools pgpool-II]# pgpool -v

pgpool-II version 3.7.7 (amefuriboshi)

[root at dbi-pg-tools pgpool-II]#

I think that this is a possibility of a bug.
Do you use Pgpool-II 4.0.2 ? 
And if so this problem don't may happend other minor and major versions.
