[pgpool-general: 5421] Pgpool virtual ip

Hi,

Does the virtual ip need to be in the same subnet as the IP address of the pgpool boxes?

Also, could the virtual ip and the pgpool boxes each be in a different subnet?

Eg. Virtual ip = 10.10.10.100
Pgpool 1 = 9.9.9.100
Pgpool 2 = 8.8.8.100
