[pgpool-general: 4670] pgpool error with PAM

Hi,

I am trying to use pgpool with pam authentication.
Created and installed pgpool v3.5 (-with-pam) and updated pool_hba.conf file to accept pam method.

PgPool is returning below errors even without asking for password.
psql: FATAL:  failed authentication against PAM
DETAIL:  pam_authenticate failed: Authentication failure

PAM is working good while connecting to DB.

Can someone please help me understand the error or RC?
