[pgpool-general: 3446] Heatbeat packets fail to send pgpool 3.4

I have set up 2 new servers and have configured the heartbeat portion of it. I am currently getting these errors constantly in the logs:

[23-1] 2015-01-28 18:11:31: pid 1198: ERROR:  failed to send watchdog heartbeat, sendto failed
[23-2] 2015-01-28 18:11:31: pid 1198: DETAIL: sending packet to “192.168.x.x" failed with reason: "Invalid argument"
[23-3] 2015-01-28 18:11:31: pid 1198: LOCATION: wd_heartbeat.c:280

Tcpdump does indeed show that no packets are being sent. OS is CentOS 6.6 and pgpool was installed from the yum repository. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
