Hi Mephysto,

As Mark stated, I believe sudo is available in every Linux. There is even a wiki page for sudo on Debian here: https://wiki.debian.org/sudo

I used scripts that are run with sudo to restrict access of my postgres user from running ifconfig, etc. In other words, my postgres user can only run a few small scripts using sudo.

BTW, I am using CentOS 7 and deploying my config files and server with Ansible.
