[pgpool-general: 3020] pgpool in replication mode

Hello,

Practically wherever I look I can see examples and tutorials for setting
up pgpool using postgresql's native streaming replication, instead of
using pgpool's way of sending the queries to all backends.

The reason might be possible issues with random() and I seem to recall
reading somewhere that using pgpool with streaming replication had a
smaller footprint on the system(s).

Could someone please give me more details on the drawbacks of using
pgpool with the built-in replication, which as I understand sends a
query received by pgpool to all backends?

Thank you!

Best regards,
andrei
