[pgpool-general: 2363] Simple Streaming replication setting with pgpool-II(multiple servers version) pgpool.log error

I have configured all given steps mentioned by wonderful doc "Simple Streaming replication setting with pgpool-II(multiple servers version)"  by Tatsuo Ishii on 3 VM's. The pgpool.log for this configuration gives following error:
 2013-12-23 22:23:04 ERROR: pid 24085: s_do_auth: expecting R got E
2013-12-23 22:23:04 ERROR: pid 24085: make_persistent_db_connection: s_do_auth failed
 
Kindly help me on this issue and solve it with proper errror resolution and go ahead with successful testing of PgPool II SR on multiple servers.
