Found the time to check the slides and I found them very interesting.
Just delivered a report to a university in Barcelona a few weeks ago
with a proposal to set up something similar to what you describe in
those slides (Streaming replication + hot standby + pgpool-II). I
didn't know you were working on pgpool-II 3.0. Looking forward to
testing it, Tatsuo :)
