[Pgpool-general] createdb through pgpool

Hello,

I installed pgpool without any problems, also started it. Modfied
pgpool.conf
so that pgpool runs at port 9999. I also checked if pgpool is running on the

proper port. I also made appropriate entries pgpool.conf so that there are
three
database servers running on ports 5432,5433 and 5434.
But when I tried to create a db named bench_replication using the command

$ createdb -p 9999 bench_replication


it gives an error


createdb: could not connect to database postgres: could not connect to
server: No such file or directory
    Is the server running locally and accepting
    connections on Unix domain socket "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.9999"?


What command should I use so that pgpool creates the database
'bench_replication'
on all the three nodes
