[Pgpool-general] pgpool.pid : No such file or directory

Hello,

I installed pgpool-II . After installation I tried the command pgpool -n
which throws an error

ERROR: pid 439: could not open pid file as /var/run/pgpool/pgpool.pid.
reason: No such file or directory

I think I have installed it properly since I did not get any error while
installing
pgpool-II.  What may be the problem ?
