[Pgpool-general] Question regarding /var/run/pgool/pgpool.pid process

Hi All,
I upgraded my staging box with pgpool 2.2.2, binaries in the directory
/usr/local/pgpool2.2.2/

When i executed the below command to start the pgpool,

/usr/local/pgpool-II/2.2.2/bin/pgpool -n  >>
/usr/local/pgpool-II/2.2.2/log/pgpool.log 2>&1 &

I received the below error message.
2009-05-20 12:08:50 ERROR: pid 26460: could not open pid file as
/var/run/pgpool/pgpool.pid. reason: No such file or directory

I didnt receive this error message in pgpool 2.1

Is there a way that I can configure the pgpool.pid in pgpool.conf file?
