[Pgpool-general] new connections are not accepted

Yes you are wrong.
The "one" pgpool process can hold the connections from pgpool
to postgres which number is defined by max_pool.
But the number of connection from acplication to pgpool is
defined by num_init_children.
One pgpool process can handle one pooled connection simultaneously.
The other pooled connections were only cached.
