[Pgpool-general] Performance issues with Pgpool - 2.2.1

Hi,

We tried using pgpool-2.2.1 in our test environment in master-slave mode and
loadbalancer, but are seeing a major degradation in the performance. Can
anybody highlight what might be the case here?

num_init_children = 50
load_balance_mode = true
master_slave_mode = true
connection_cache = true
insert_lock = false

Postgres: 8.3.3

All the remaining parameters are same and we are using two servers in the
replication set.
