[Pgpool-general] PGPool II Replication Mode Fails

I see.  Apparently it can't do md5 authentication either due to
different salts, so I have it working with plaintext passwords.  

Thanks for your help.  Also, it would be great if the error messages
that show up in syslog indicated plainly that there was an
authentication error.  The error messages that I saw were very opaque to
a non-pgpool developer.
