[Pgpool-general] pool_do_auth: kind is not match between backends master(R) secondary(E)

Hi, 

When I start pgpool everything looks normal.  But if I Attempt to get
the pool status, pgpool gives the following error.

"pool_do_auth: kind is not match between backends master(R) secondary
(E)"

What exactly does this error mean?  The servers in question are of
different versions. One is version 7.3.4 (backend_host) and the other is
7.4.6 

A portion of my /etc/pgpool.conf:

allow_inet_domain_socket = 1
port = 9999
socket_dir = '/tmp'

backend_host_name = '192.168.10.100'
backend_port = 5432

secondary_backend_host_name = '192.168.0.2'
secondary_backend_port = 5432

Any assistance would be appreciated.
