| Summary | 0000738: stop primary PostgreSQL server, the virtual IP is not released | ||||
| Description | node03: 192.168.10.130 node04: 192.168.10.131 Virtual IP: 192.168.10.150 PostgreSQL version: 14 Pgpool-II version: 4.3beta1 I've configured 2 nodes pg cluster with pgpool refer to this linkhttps://www.pgpool.net/docs/43/en/html/example-cluster.html Installation and startup are normal I stop the pgpool.service of node03, vip has released and node04 has acquired the vip. BUT!!! I stop primary PostgreSQL server, the virtual IP is not released!!! | ||||

# pgPool-II configuration file
# ----------------------------
#
# This file consists of lines of the form:
#
# name = value
#
# Whitespace may be used. Comments are introduced with "#" anywhere on a line.
# The complete list of parameter names and allowed values can be found in the
# pgPool-II documentation.
#
# This file is read on server startup and when the server receives a SIGHUP
# signal. If you edit the file on a running system, you have to SIGHUP the
# server for the changes to take effect, or use "pgpool reload". Some
# parameters, which are marked below, require a server shutdown and restart to
# take effect.

another question: stop leader pgpool service, node04 has acquired the vip, but primary PostgreSQL service on the node03, so database is read only? |
|
|
First of all, thank you for testing Pgpool-II 4.3 beta! > I stop primary PostgreSQL server, the virtual IP is not released!!! This is an expected behavior because VIP is assigned to Pgpool-II, NOT PostgreSQL. > another question: stop leader pgpool service, node04 has acquired the vip, but primary PostgreSQL service on the node03, so database is read only? The expected behavior is, the primary PostgreSQL service on the node03 keeps on working as the primary. If not, there's something wrong. If so, can you please share: pcp_watchdog_info -p [port of watchdog] -v pcp_node_info -p [port of watchdog] -v |
