Hi,

I don’t want postgresql to be on the same server as pgpool, but I tried laying the software down anyway from a tar file (not using RPMs) and still got the error. A comment on the pgpool.net download page says the following:

“From 2014/10/06, old installers ("installer-pg93*") are deprecated and users should use new installers ("installer2-pg93*"). The new installers allow you to install pgpool-II and PostgreSQL onto separate servers: which was impossible with
old installers.”

So it sounds like I should be able to do this. Does anyone know how to tell the installer not to bother checking for postgresql?
